The Quesnel & District Museum and Archives has two positions available for students.

Dates: May 14 - September 1

Hourly rates: $14.75 + $1.20 in lieu of benefits + 4% vacation

The Curatorial Assistant will have the opportunity to contribute to a number of ongoing projects, which will provide the student with an understanding of a broad range of museum operations including collections registration, digitizing and indexing a photograph collection and exhibit development. If the student is interested he/she could conduct interviews for an oral history project.

The Education and Events Co-ordinator assists with the delivery of education programs and outreach activities during community festivals. He/she will be responsible for planning and implementing a children's activity day and an event for teens and young adults. He or she will also prepare promotional material and social media content for the museum's web and Facebook pages.

Both students assist with daily operations (visitor reception, gift shop sales, research requests, exhibit maintenance, special events) and have the opportunity to select an individual project.

These positons are partially dependent on grant funding and applicants must qualify for the Young Canada Works program. We happily work with students to fulfill requirements for co-op credits.
