Dear Ryan Hunt:

Our Government is committed to making life better for people living with
disabilities in British Columbia (BC). We are working across government to
improve access and inclusion for everyone.

Starting October 5, 2019, province-wide consultations on the development of
accessibility legislation will begin and will run until November 29, 2019.
The feedback we gather will help inform new accessibility legislation that
will be fundamental to bringing about a culture shift towards greater
accessibility in communities across the province.

I would like to invite you to participate in this important conversation.
Your perspectives and expertise will be critical as Government develops
laws, standards and policies to support people with disabilities to live
with dignity, whether in the workplace, during recreation, when visiting
public buildings, or travelling through SuperNatural BC.

The consultation offers several ways for you to participate:

1. Attend an in-person session. Register today for a public meeting in
your community through:
https://feedback.engage.gov.bc.ca/228698/lang/en/newtest/Y.

· Saturday, October 5, 2019 – Victoria

· Tuesday, October 15, 2019 – Fort St John

· Wednesday, October 16, 2019 – Surrey

· Friday, October 18, 2019 – Comox

· Saturday, November 2, 2019 – Vancouver

· Tuesday, November 12, 2019 – Kamloops

· Wednesday, November 13, 2019 – Penticton

· Thursday, November 14, 2019 – Nelson

2. Complete an online questionnaire at:
https://feedback.engage.gov.bc.ca/319178?lang=en.

3. Send your comments by email or telephone. Contact information can
be found at: https://engage.gov.bc.ca/accessibility/ways-to-participate-2/.

4. Participate in a virtual town hall through:
https://engage.gov.bc.ca/accessibility/register-for-a-virtual-townhall/.

For more information about the consultation and ways to participate, visit:
 https://engage.gov.bc.ca/accessibility/.

I look forward to hearing your ideas about how we can work together to
remove barriers and build a better BC for everyone.

Sincerely,

Lisa Beare
