Registration opens on Monday, Oct. 7 for the AABC distance education course
"Introduction to Archival Preservation".
*Registration:* October 7 - November 25, 2019
*Course duration:* January 6 - March 16, 2020
Using the textbook *Preserving Archives and Manuscripts* students will be
introduced to archival preservation over seven modules that include
concepts and terminology in archival preservation and best practices for
the preservation of paper records, photographs, machine readable records
and electronic media. Students will also learn about design requirements
for archives buildings and storage environments, the exhibition of archival
records and emergency planning.
*Cost:* AABC members $350.00 (CAD) / Non-member $500.00 (CAD); plus the
cost of the course textbook
*Limit: * 20 students
*Textbook: *Mary Lynn Ritzenthaler. *Preserving Archives and Manuscripts* (SAA,
2010). A discounted price is available for the textbook if ordered from the
SAA.
