FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

VPAG Introduces Internationally Renowned Artist Diana Thorneycroft

The Vernon Public Art Gallery has received the tremendous opportunity to exhibit award winning artist, Diana Thorneycroft. Her exhibition will be in VPAG's Topham Brown gallery from October 10th until December 19, 2019, with an opening reception on October 10th

October 2, 2019 - Vernon, BC: The Vernon Public Art Gallery is excited to exhibit Diana Thorneycroft this fall. Thorneycroft is a Winnipeg native and has had her work exhibited across Canada, the United States, Europe, Moscow, Tokyo and Sydney. She has received several Provincial and National Level Arts awards and VPAG is honoured to have the chance to share her works with our arts community. Thorneycroft's work is anything but conventional, as she finds herself combining beauty with absurd and grotesque themes. The exhibition she is bringing to the VPAG is titled Black Forest (village); a series of photographs and a large diorama that tell a dark tale about mutant creatures, their herdsmen and the town they live in. In these works Thorneycroft continues to embrace the grotesque.

"The VPAG strives to offer its members and Greater Vernon high-quality art exhibitions from established and award-winning artists. We are overwhelmingly grateful for the national funding VPAG received from Canada Council for the Arts to enable us to exhibit renowned artist Diana Thorneycroft." Dauna Kennedy, Executive Director

VPAG cannot wait for the public to experience the artwork that has just arrived. This upcoming exhibition brings unconventional and thought provoking content to the gallery and challenges the viewer to look deeper.

Stop by the VPAG to experience this much anticipated exhibition. Admission is by donation.

The Vernon Public Art Gallery is a not-for-profit, charitable organization committed to fostering an appreciation of the visual arts for all members of the community.
