Hi, Cathy,

I see someone has already suggested the Rick Hansen Foundation, which we
have also spoken to in the past couple of years. At the same time, we also
talked to the coordinators at a couple of local programs whose clients are
elderly, have mobility challenges, etc, and just asked them to come in and
tell us what we could do to make things better for their clients. It was a
very simple process that gave us a whole bunch of ideas - most of them very
simple and inexpensive - for improving accessibility.

Subject: [BCMA] Building Accessibility Needs Analysis

Hello;

Revelstoke Museum & Archives is currently working on an Accessibility Needs
Analysis. We have a two storey building with wheelchair access to the main
floor only. As a first step in improving accessibility, we need to do an
analysis of our target audience, their potential accessibility needs, and
the goals and objectives of the museum in regards to building accessibility.

Has anyone already gone through this process? I would appreciate any
recommendations regarding methodology for gathering information, sources to
go to for data, and any other suggestions.

Thank you,

Cathy English, Curator
