The federal emergency support fund for heritage organizations has recently expanded to include those with 2019 operating budgets of $2,000 and up.
The definition of heritage organization is much broader than the usual Museums Assistance Program (MAP), and covers those with a heritage collection of any size or type that has had some regular public access over the past three years. This includes First Nations with a small collection on display in the band office, archives, seasonal and all volunteer-run museums.
Anyone is welcome to check in with me to see if your organization is eligible for this support.
Applications must be submitted by Sept 1, 2020. The form is straightforward, and the funding can be used towards most usual heritage operating expenses during this fiscal year plus any covid related expenses, no reporting required.
