[BCMA] News Release: Government of BC and BC Museums Association to Provide Funding to Support Repatriation

Hello everyone,

It was announced today that the B.C. government is providing $500,000 to
the BC Museums Association to provide a range of grants to support
communities at different stages of the repatriation process. First Nations
communities and organizations will be eligible for grants to support
repatriation planning, building capacity to take on repatriation projects,
and encouraging collaboration with cultural organizations.

Applications will open on September 8, 2020, and more details regarding the
announcement can be found in today's news release (attached to this email).

More details will be announced later this summer on the BC Museum

We are very appreciative of the Government of B.C.'s support of this
critical work and look forward to working with the BCMA's Indigenous
Advisory Committee and collaborating with the Royal BC Museum to build upon
the excellent work they have done to support the repatriation of cultural
property.
