Hi everyone,
Have you started to receive a lot of calls with no one on the end of the
line? About a month ago, we started to get multiple calls a day like this.
Now that we have received our latest bill from our Toll Free phone provider
we have figured out the scam. How does it work, well basically along the
path of the phone call, there is a crooked carrier in cahoots with the phone
caller.
So we are being forced to pay for calls that were not legitimate calls.
Heck, if we do not answer the calls, it even cost us more as they go to
voice mail, which makes it a longer call..
At this point there is no solution to the issue other than to cancel the
number. We could reduce the number of calls by blocking US numbers, since
that is where most of these come from, though some do come from the USA. The
problem is that we also act as the local visitor centre and thus we do get
legitimate calls on this number as well.
Anyway, just want to give you a heads up.
