[BCMA] We want to work with you! #MuseumsEh June edition!

Hello!

We’re Wendy and Sandra from Museum of Surrey in BC. During this time of
closure, we’ve all been working on ways to keep visitors engaged and
entertained, especially through virtual connections. In doing so, we have
come up with an idea to unite Canadian museums and our followers together.



Many museums across the world are coming together on social media to stay
connected with their visitors . You have probably seen these hashtags or
even used #MuseumCoffeeBreak or #GettyChallenge. But we found that a lot of
these initiatives came from the US or UK – why can’t Canadians start
something on our own?



So we came up with *#MuseumsEh*! It’s fun, memorable and lighthearted. Most
importantly, it’s easy.



What’s the plan?

   - Each month will bring a new theme. The theme for June is Baking!
   - Simply post something from your museum related to the theme and
   hashtag it #MuseumsEh.
   - Feel free to tag other museums, inviting them to participate.
   - Even tag local media as a tap on the shoulder.
   - Post as little or as often as you like that month with content related
   to the theme.
   - Tip: follow the hashtag to see posts in your newsfeed. Maybe even
   share them to your stories to spread the love.



Our hope is the hashtag will create a virtual community of Canadian museums
and their followers, spreading positivity and unity.
