Hi Jeffrey,

The Cowichan Wooden Boat Society would love to take them all and can find
great use for them in our museum. We will gladly pick up right away if
possible.

Kind regards,

Subject: [BCMA] Free display cases

Hi everyone,

The Maritime Museum of BC in Victoria is clearing out some of our storage
space to make more room to care for the collection. We have 5 custom built
display cases available for free to anyone who would like them. There are
three different types of cases available. All we ask is that you arrange
and pay for pick-up.

Three of the cases (type I and III) have a plexiglass top for display. The
type II display cases do not have a plexiglass covering, but could easily
have one built for these cases. The cases exhibit signs of use, wear, and
tear, including crapes, scuffs, and peeling moulding. However, they could be
repaired and painted. They have the following features:

.	Type I (1 available):
	o	Full dimensions: 25" L x 25" W x 61.5" H
	o	Dimensions of Base: 21: L x 21" W x 36" H
	o	Dimensions of plexiglass: 24" L x 24" W 23.75" H
	o	Made of solid wood.
o	The wood can easily be painted to match your exhibit
colours.
	o	Top is removable.
o	The base is hollow, making them lighter to move.
o	Not on wheels, but have plastic platforms, so they can
easily slide.
o	Moulding is peeling. One nail is cracking through the wood.
Can be repaired, and painted over.

.	Type II (2 available):
	o	Full dimensions: 64.5" L x 25" W x 31.5" H
	o	Interior dimensions: 62.25" L x 22.25" W
o	No plexiglass covering, but could have one custom built.
	o	Some scrapes.
	o	Made of solid wood.
o	The wood can easily be painted to match your exhibit
colours.
o	Not on wheels, but have plastic platforms, so they can
easily slide.
o	The base is hollow, making them lighter to move.

.	Type III (2 available):
	o	Full dimensions: 64.5" L x 24.5" W x 44.5" H
	o	Dimensions of Base: 64.5" L x 24.5" W x 14.25" H
	o	Dimensions of plexiglass: 63" L x 22.5" W x 30" H
o	They are on wheels for easy movement.
o	The base is hollow, making them lighter to move.
o	The base is made of particle board, or another composite
material, painted black.
o	The wood can easily be painted to match your exhibit
colours.
o	Minimal signs of wear. Only one case exhibits this signs on
the lower half of the base.

Photos are attached of these display cases.

If you are interested in these display cases, please email me at
archives at mmbc.bc.ca and let me know the type of case you would like, how
many of the cases you would like, and when you might be able to arrange pick
up.

Many thanks,
Jeffrey
