Local artist submissions requested for new Glass Gallery space

February 9, 2021 – Kelowna, BC: The Kelowna Art Gallery is introducing a new exhibition space and has put a call out to artists to submit their ideas for the inaugural display.

The space has been dubbed the Glass Gallery, and is a unique high visibility window space, which is adjacent to the main entrance of the Gallery. This pilot project is planned to launch on April 5, 2021.

“We are delighted to introduce this new artistic opportunity and are particularly pleased to offer a new space that should be welcoming to early career artists in the Okanagan,” says Victoria Verge, Education Coordinator, who is spearheading the project at the Gallery. ”We can’t wait to see the creative out-of-the-box submissions that get dreamt up, and ultimately share them with the community.”

The Gallery is encouraging local artists to submit proposals for their site-specific installation project. Preference will be given to artists whose intended piece imaginatively uses the space. The Gallery is pleased to offer the successful applicant a CARFAC Fee.

The deadline for artists to submit their project proposals is March 5, 2021⁠.
