Think hard about this…. A simple photo frame might be enough. Or a basic tablet. Or heck an old fashion photo album….
I find that often touch screens and multiple technologies in a gallery just become places for kids to push a button at and move onto the next without even waiting for the response. I can’t even begin to count how often I have been in a museum gallery only to find a significant portion of the electronics our of order… Interactive could be as easy as a collection of old style jackets to put on, or a demonstration of a block and tackle system….
But if you really feel the need for an electronic viewer, then start with a basic tablet and see how it is used by the visitors.
Cheers

Hello Everyone!
I'm working at a very small museum and we are trying to find new ways to display more in the limited space we have. One option is to purchase stations where we can have our photograph collections with the history connected to them for people to access in the gallery. We would like to have several but we would like to know what companies are out there for these as well as who would be more cost effective. We understand that right now anything hands-on is not ideal, but we would like to start planning this for when we can do more hands-on things in the gallery again. Thank you all.
