[NPSBC] Off topic - banding hummingbirds

I did not respond to this query right away as I was consulting the experts.
Basically they believe that the care they take with the bands means that
there should be no damage to the eggs or injury to mother or babies. Allison
Moran, local coordinator of all local hummingbird banders and others have
responded directly to Adolf and others. As this is off-topic, contact me if
you wish to be in on further information on this. It sure hasn't slowed down
the Anna's Hummingbirds in my garden. We have been banding them year round
since 2004 and have banded over 200 birds in our yard! We get banded adults
back up to several years later and many very healthy juveniles every year
but, of course, that doesn't prove anything.

I wonder if somebody has studied the impact of banding hummingbirds on their
nesting success (or failure). The egg shell is thinner than the parchment
paper, and I can imagine that the band can damage the clutch. Or, am I
wrong?
