The Washington Native Plant Society's (WNPS) Conservation Committee is currently accepting grant application for projects that will restore, improve, or support on-the-ground, functioning native ecosystems in the State of Washington. WNPS is the State's leading advocate for promoting appreciation and conservation of Washington's native plants and their habitats-and the associated services and benefits they provide. WNPS operates as a Section 501(c)(3) non-profit organization under the US. Internal Revenue Code.
Grant applications for 2016 will be accepted through January 15 and awards will be determined by February 15. Successful project applications will request up to $1,500, provide public benefit, align with WNPS goals, and support WNPS conservation priorities. Evaluation criteria include an assessment of the quantity and quality of potential ecological benefit to be gained and the likelihood of project success. Funded projects will be featured in Douglasia (the quarterly journal of WNPS) upon successful completion.
