--------------------------------------------------------------------
We're still seeking photos for the updated reissue of Arthur Kruckeberg's
Gardening with Native Plants of the Pacific Northwest, to be published by UW
Press next summer-- we got an extension for another week or two.
The plan is to include photos of most plants mentioned in previous editions,
plus a few added species.
Unfortunately, the press does not have a budget to compensate photographers,
but contributors with ten or more photos in the book will receive a free
copy. All photos will be duly credited, with bio/bylines on photographers in
the back.
The press is producing this book with high quality art-book printing, so
they require resolution of 350 dpi or better at 5x7 inches. I can do the
resizing, given a digital copy with enough pixels.
We have received many beautiful photos from botanists and plant
photographers throughout the Northwest, covering about 870 species, but we
have about 50 species to go. Many of the remaining species are fairly rare,
but a few are common. If you might have photos you'd be interested in
contributing, I can send you the wish-list.
If you know someone who might have photos and might be interested in
contributing to this project, feel free to forward this letter to them.
Thank you,
Sami Gray
