Temporary Full-Time Position – 2 years - Position Number 90234
The Programs and Interpretation Division at the Canadian War Museum
(CWM) is currently seeking a dynamic individual who will conceive, plan,
develop, implement and monitor all stages of programming within the CWM
mandate in order to ensure the effective and efficient provision of
services to Museum visitors; make recommendations to the Manager,
Programs & Interpretation regarding policies, goals, procedures and
strategies on potential sponsors, partners, revenue-generation
initiatives and innovative themes, topics and approaches for programs;
coordinate programming activities of the Museum in order to ensure the
effective delivery and promotion of programs; monitor and analyze
responses to programs (by staff, volunteers, clients) in order to
measure the Museum’s effectiveness; and perform other related duties.
As the ideal candidate, you hold a University degree in education,
social sciences, humanities, museology, or other related discipline.
You possess knowledge of:
* The functions of a national history museum (military history would
be an asset);
* Needs, interests, capabilities of targeted audiences and
applications to the development of dynamic programming;
* Principles and practices of market analysis, business planning and
project management;
* Evaluation techniques, learning theories and educational methods.
You have experience :
* In design, research, conceptualization, development, planning and
implementation of a variety of programs for a diverse audience;
* In project management, preparing proposals, reports, budgets and
project schedules;
* In the development of partnerships with diverse organizations;
* In providing direction to animators, other employees, contractors
and volunteers.
Since you will be working in a highly computerized environment, a
demonstrated experience of word processing (Word), electronic
spreadsheet (Excel), presentation (Power Point) and electronic mail is
required.
