Did you know that most people fear public speaking more than
death? This critical life skill doesn't have to be
experienced like that! I'll teach you an approach that takes
the focus off you and puts it onto your topic where it
belongs. 

The key is knowing how to meet the needs of your
participants! What they want, need and expect! Without an
audience, you wouldn't be presenting would you? Most
speakers seem to forget that and drone on, turning their
audience off a potentially exciting and meaningful learning
opportunity.

Whether you give brief roving presentations, or all day
workshops, the two Interpretation Canada modules will teach
you the simple tricks needed to create an effective engaging
presentation or workshop. Planning may take a little longer
at first, but your participants will thank you by increasing
demand for your presentations! And, you'll never want to go
back!

In Module 1, you learn an effective approach to teaching
people. Called "Interpretation", it can be applied to any
subject, in person or in print or other media! Together,
we'll find out what it is, and how to apply the principles
that guide it. Next, we'll examine who your audience is and
how they best learn your message. Then, we'll use the help
of the group to create an intriguing title for your
presentation. In small groups, you'll discover how
objectives are important and a cookie cutter recipe to make
writing them easy, and how to structure and plan the rest of
your program. Reveal your hidden creativity to improve the
impact of your presentation! 

Module 2 builds on Module 1 by finding out how to best
communicate with a group, and why the structuring of
introductions, transitions and conclusions are critical to
every  presentation (and how to write them). You'll get
practice in delivery skills for powerpoint/slideshows,
posterboards, or giving guided indoor and outdoor tour, use
props to engage your audience, or create an interactive
table display. You'll also discover the easiest ways to
collect feedback to find out what your audience liked and
didn't!

Lots of real life examples from a variety of topic areas are
provided throughout the modules.

These workshops are a MUST for anyone that wants to create
meaningful, relevant interactive presentations, tours or
workshops that have impact on participants. 

Bring a topic that you want to develop and we'll use it in
class. Follow-up tutoring (reserved separately) available
for those that want help tweaking their presentations. Also
consulting available if you want me to revise an existing
program. 

Modules may be taken independently in any order. Workshop
takes place in a homey environment across from a wooded
park.

$185 per 2 day module No GST 

Includes $15 non-refundable registration fee, Interpretation
Canada workbook and completion certificate and light
refreshments during workshop and facilitator with 20 years
experience giving natural, cultural and spirtitual
presentations to a wide variety of audiences. She has also
applied the principles & techniques to self-guided signage,
published writing, audio CD's and even dog training classes
and diabetic talks for Pharmacy! 

Mail in cheque, drop off cash or use credit cards via
PayPal. Institutions may be invoiced.

Confirmation of registration package includes what to bring,
directions, accommodation recommendations & other useful
information. Fees must be received at least 1 week before
classes start.
