Part-Time Employment Opportunity - Museum Program Assistant

Vancouver Police Museum



The Vancouver Police Centennial Museum is operated by the Vancouver Police 
Historical Society, a non-profit society and registered charity.  The 
mandate of the museum is to foster interest in the history of the Vancouver 
Police Department and to deliver educational programs that focus on the 
science of police work and the history of the Vancouver Police Department.



Working under the supervision of the Museum Programmer, the successful 
candidate will be responsible for:

  a.. Delivering educational programs to elementary, secondary and ESL 
students
  b.. Conducting walking tours and guided tours of the museum
  c.. Assisting with the research and development of new educational 
programs
  d.. Greeting visitors to the museum, collecting admissions and handling 
gift shop sales




Requirements:

  a.. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; public speaking 
experience is an asset
  b.. Ability to work both independently and in a team
  c.. An interest in forensic science, policing, education or history is an 
asset
