Student Summer Employment Opportunity
Position: Program Assistant
The Delta Museum and Archives is looking for a temporary, part-time (30
hours per week) Program Assistant.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Program Assistant is responsible for
assisting with the development, implementation, and presentation of
educational programs and special events, including:
* program and event research
* developing and writing activity plans
* purchasing, preparing, and coordinating supplies and materials
* scheduling and co-ordinating program presenters
* presenting educational programs and events
* producing promotional materials
* evaluating programs and special events
* orientation of visitors to museum and archives facilities and
services
* aiding and assisting museum and archives visitors
Qualifications:
* Applicant must have been a full-time student during the last
academic year and be returning to full-time study in the fall of 2007
* Applicant must be legally entitled to work in Canada
* University degree preferred or near completion of university degree
* Education, practical training, and/or experience in teaching or
working with children
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills
Term of Employment: May 23 to August 19, 2007; Tuesday to Saturday, 9:30
am to 4:00 pm
Rate of Pay: $12.42 per hour, plus 4% in lieu of vacation
