Museum's 25th Season Closes with a Quilt Show
If you haven't already visited the Creston Museum this summer, you might =
want to do so soon - the Museum closes for the winter on September 15.
On that day, the Museum will have even more to see than usual. The =
exhibits will be supplemented with a show of over 100 quilts and other =
needlework treasures.
"We've hosted a quilt show for several years now," says Tammy Hardwick, =
museum manager. "It started with a display of antique quilts in =
conjunction with the Quilt Festival." =20
Last year, when the Quilt Festival shut down, the Museum continued its =
heritage quilt show, and added quilting demonstrations and a show of =
modern quilts as well.
That's all back again this year,"says Hardwick. "The heritage quilts =
will be in the Archives as usual; the displays in the main museum will =
be peeking out around the modern quilts. In he Carr Building, the =
Monday Quilters will be giving demonstrations and selling quilt blocks =
to raise funds for Quilts for Kids."
The quilt show is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Anyone who would like =
to display a quilt is invited to contact the Museum at 428-9262
