Big Staff Changes at the Gallery**

The Kamloops Art Gallery is pleased to announce the following staffing
changes.

Beverley Clayton, Manager, Administrative Services, who has been with
the KAG since 1999, has accepted the role of Acting Director while the
Executive Director, Jann Bailey, is on a medical leave. Clayton says, "I
am honoured to accept the role of Acting Director. I am confident that
the Gallery will continue to live up to its leadership role in visual
arts and culture in Kamloops by engaging the community in dynamic
exhibitions, programs, and events; being accountable to our
stakeholders, in particular our key funders the City of Kamloops, BC
Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts; and supporting and
encouraging our skilled and dedicated staff. We are very fortunate to
have recently hired Matthew Tremblay as Preparator and Craig Willms as
Assistant Curator to join our team of professional and competent staff."

Matthew Tremblay is a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Fine Arts
program at Thompson Rivers University. Craig Willms graduated from TRU
with a Diploma in Fine Arts and completed his BFA in Halifax at the Nova
Scotia College of Art and Design. Willms is also the President of
Arnica, Kamloops' artist-run centre.

Jen Budney, KAG Curator, has accepted the position of Associate Curator
at the Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and leaves the KAG
in May. She says, "Kamloops is a very special place and I'll be leaving
here with several fond memories and many dear friends. I've worked hard
at the KAG to bridge the gap between contemporary art and the many
different communities of the region in exhibitions like /Overstepped
Boundaries/, /Undiscovered/, and /Odd Objects/, as well as the ongoing
workshops leading up to next year's Jayce Salloum retrospective. There's
so much potential for the arts in this city, so I'll be following the
Gallery's evolution with great interest and excitement. The staff at the
Gallery have been amazing to work with over the past three years, and I
know they will thrive under Beverley's direction." Clayton states, "I
have no doubt that Jen will contribute a great deal to the Mendel, as
she has at the KAG. They are very fortunate to acquire a curator with
the skills and insight that Jen possesses."
