Vancouver Canucks Host BC150 Hockey Game

Who in B.C. doesn't know the names of Stan Smyl, Pavel Bure or Trevor
Linden? These Vancouver Canucks, along with their past and present team
mates, have been inspiring British Columbians for over three decades.

The Vancouver Canucks hosted a special BC150 home game against the
Calgary Flames on November 27 to honour the rich history of hockey in
British Columbia throughout the years.

London Drugs BC150 Calendar Supports Children's Hospital

London Drugs will continue celebrating BC150 in 2009.

The B.C.-based company is raising money for the B.C. Children's Hospital
with a BC150 Commemorative Calendar. The 2009 calendar will celebrate
BC150 by featuring the winners of the BC150 Photo Contest.

The contest was launched during the summer of 2008. British Columbians
submitted photos representing different time periods in B.C.'s history.
More than 5,000 photographs were entered into the public voting contest.

BC150 Stops of Interest

In order to celebrate BC150, the Integrated Land Management Bureau in
the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands has enhanced the original Stop of
Interest Signage Program, created in 1966 to celebrate B.C.'s
Centennial, and the Circle Route Signage Program, created in 2005. 

Twelve BC150 signs were installed throughout the province, highlighting
historical events that have occurred over the past 150 years. The signs
capture everything from Mile 0 of the Kettle Valley Railway in Midway to
the 1864 gold rush at Wild Horse Creek. They will remain in place for
many years of enjoyment by the traveling public.
