The Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg is getting some financial help from the provincial

Canada Science and Technology Museum eyes new name
Ottawa Sun Share/Partager
What would you rename the Canada Science and Technology Museum? One idea bandied about during
the museum's 'visioning' exercise is coming up with a new name. Something like, the Canadian Science
and Innovation Museum. That's an actual suggestion offered during a museum meeting of a campaign
steering team from last March, according to the minutes. More/LIRE PLUS

I don't think I'd ever heard a lake quite like this before. Birds? Sure. Waves? Of course. But standing on the
shores of Kathleen Lake in late May I can hear the cracking. The sun has broken through, and chunks of
ice are drifting apart in the sudden 'warmth' of a 13-degree day. The water is a slate grey and still littered
with ice. The shore is covered with small grey rocks, and deep green evergreens line the banks as they rise
up to craggy, black peaks packed with snow. More/LIRE PLUS

Ottawa-area house is a piece of history still in the making
The Globe and Mail Share/Partager
Located on the Ottawa River in Ontario's Renfrew County, about a 45-minute drive from Parliament Hill
and just west of Arnprior, historic McDonell House was built by the lumber baron Alexander McDonell, a
Scottish-born Canadian politician, and his Montreal-born wife Janet, circa 1832. Some parts of the house,
including the original kitchen, date to an even earlier time in Upper Canada's formative years. More/LIRE
