GRAPHIC DESIGNER 

 

The Richmond Art Gallery Association (RAGA) is seeking an in-house
Graphic Designer to provide internal support services in print and
electronic media. The Graphic Designer will report to the Gallery
Director and work closely with the Exhibitions & Gallery Coordinator and
other staff to maintain a strong visual communications portfolio and
establish a cohesive brand presence for the Richmond Art Gallery. 

The RAGA exists to support the public, non-profit Gallery of the City of
Richmond, dedicated to the collection, exhibition, preservation and
promotion of visual arts and to promote exhibition-related lectures,
seminars, workshops and other forms of public education. 

 

Duties include but are not limited to: the design, production and print
coordination of exhibition graphic materials; the development of
promotional collateral for the gallery's public programs and educational
initiatives; maintaining the gallery website, e-newsletter and social
media channels; as well as managing an archive of artist images, event
photographs and completed design 

 

Please note this is a part time position that is dependent on grant
funding. The hours are from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm with the potential of up
to four days per week. The wage is pay grade 2 ($ 17.33 per hour under
review) plus 4% vacation pay and 5% in lieu of benefits. 

 

Requirements: 

Diploma in Graphic Design required and 3 years work experience desirable
preferably in a Gallery setting 

Experience working with print media and processes 

Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite 5 (PC & Mac) - Acrobat,
InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop 

Good working knowledge of Dreamweaver, Wordpress and some knowledge of
HTML, CSS & PHP 

Good working knowledge of Facebook, Tumblr, Youtube, MailChimp
