Summer Positions, 2015 at the Pitt Meadows Museum and Archives

 

The Pitt Meadows Museum has two summer positions for students that offer
entry level work in a small community museum and archives.  Position one is
for a Programs and Collections assistant at the Museum's main site, the Old
General Store.  Running for 14 weeks the principal duties of the position
involve the production of our annual Heritage Thursdays for Children
sessions as well as activities for events the Museum is involved in
throughout the summer.  Additional duties include collections management
tasks and visitor service duties.  The second position is for a Collections
Assistant at the Museum's second site, the Hoffmann and Son Machine Shop.
Duties include accessioning and related research, photography, data entry,
visitor service tasks and assistance at special events.  Position one is 35
hours weeks, Wednesday through Sunday for 14 weeks and position two is 30
hours per week, Wednesday through Sunday for twelve weeks.  Remuneration for
each position is $14.00 per hour with 4% vacation pay.  Both positions start
late May and are intended for post-secondary students under the age of 30
who are in full time attendance and intend to return to school full time in
