[BCMA] Collection Contractors Wanted - Inventory

Project Title: Inventory and Collections Move

The City of Richmond (the "City") wishes to engage qualified collection technicians (the "Consultants") to provide collections management expertise and skill for an inventory and collections move (the "Project"). This project requires 3 collection technicians.

Project Background

The City of Richmond has over 20,000 artefacts in its collection. The collection is stored at various locations throughout the City. An estimated 4,000 industrial, maritime, cannery and BC Packers related objects have been stored in a warehouse, containers and net loft building at Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site and The Steveston Harbour Authority. In an effort to centralize the City's artefact collection and provide improved storage conditions, these artefacts will be moved to a warehouse close to the City Centre.

Objective of the Project

The objective is to conduct a high level inventory, deaccession and prepare to move the artefacts to a warehouse in Richmond.

Project Timeline:

April 30th to July 31st (approx. 30 hours a week for 14 weeks for a total of 420 hours) Scheduled work will take place Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 4:30pm - a detailed schedule will be provided to contractors closer to the start date of the project.

An extended contract may be considered.
Fee

*         $11,700   inclusive of taxes
