Do you enjoy working with people of all ages in a fast-paced and fun work environment?  The City of Burnaby is looking for auxiliary Carousel Operators to operate and monitor the 1912 vintage carousel located at Burnaby Village Museum. The carousel is a popular attraction for visitors and tourists alike.
The Carousel Operator is involved in public contact and carousel ride operational work. Along with routine cleaning and maintenance tasks and responsibility for ensuring the safe operation of the ride, duties include operating and monitoring carousel ride machinery and equipment either at the control console or at the attendant position, starting up the ride and testing all controls, carrying out daily safety inspections and completes inspection reports; performing routine cleaning and minor maintenance of carousel ride as per instructions; overseeing safe operation of the ride, ensuring riders are properly seated, assisting riders when getting on and off rides; enacting prescribed emergency procedures as required; and providing information and assistance to riders.  The Carousel Operator performs related work as required.
Our Burnaby Village Museum team desires applicants with ride machinery or equipment-related work experience.  As individuals will be interacting a lot with customers, we would love to see a strong customer service background in your application.
Shifts for this position vary based on our operational requirements.  Ideally, your availability for this role will be evenings and weekends.  Our season at the Museum runs from May through August and from late November through early January each year. If this position interests you, please apply!
