[BCMA] Canadian Collections Care Survey is launched!

Below is information about the CAC-CAPC *Canadian C**ollections Care Survey
that has officially been launched. *

It would be great if *one person from your organization *would take 15-30
minutes to answer this important survey on the health of our heritage
collections across Canada.

The Canadian Association for the Conservation of Cultural Property (CAC)
and the Canadian Association of Professional Conservators (CAPC) *invite
you to contribute to a nation-wide survey on heritage collection health in
Canada.* The objective of this survey is to collect data that can be used
for advocacy campaigns, fundraising, programming or planning by a variety
of associations and organizations.

Similar to the US Heritage Health Index (2005), which led to many great
initiatives and injection of capital in various collections care projects,
this initiative is needed in Canada to promote awareness of heritage
conservation at local, provincial, and federal levels, and to encourage the
creation of new legislation, policies and funding programs.

*Who should answer this survey:*  Staff from museums, libraries, archives,
art galleries or cultural centres with heritage collections that are
accessible to the public. *Only one response per institution please. *The
respondent should be familiar with the collection and facilities, and be
able to obtain basic financial and staffing information.

The survey results will be shared later in 2018 on the CAC and CAPC

L’Association canadienne pour la conservation et la restauration des biens
culturels (ACCR) et l’Association canadienne des restaurateurs
professionnels (ACRP) vous invitent à participer à un sondage national sur
la santé des collections patrimoniales au Canada. L’objectif de ce sondage
est d’amasser des données qui pourront être utilisées par une variété
d’organisations et d’associations pour lancer des campagnes de
sensibilisation ou de levée de fonds, ou pour développer de nouveaux
programmes.

Aux États-Unis, le *Heritage Health Index* (2005) aux États-Unis a mené à
plusieurs initiatives importantes et au financement de plusieurs projets de
soin des collections. Au Canada, nous avons besoin d’une initiative
semblable afin de promouvoir l’importance de la conservation du patrimoine
à divers niveaux (local, provincial et fédéral), et pour favoriser la
création de nouvelles lois, politiques et programmes de financement.

*Qui doit répondre à ce sondage :* Le personnel des musées, bibliothèques,
archives, ou des centres culturels qui ont une collection patrimoniale qui
est accessible au public. Une seule réponse par institution
s'il-vous-plaît. La personne qui répondra aux questions devra bien
connaître la collection et les installations. De plus il/elle devra être en
mesure d’obtenir des renseignements de base sur le budget et sur les
ressources humaines.
